Geocache Description:

A series of eight caches in and around Brixham placed to celebrate Brixham’s pirate record achieved in 2010, 1744 pirates were counted & that`s a lot of salty seadogs in anyone’s book.

The series comprises of eight caches and a bonus, you will need to find a number in each of the caches which will lead you to the bonus booty of the usual treasure!
The captain used to drink too much rum and always forgot where he put things, knowing this he put a gold piece of eight at each cache location so he could find his way back. Unfortunately he was made to walk his own plank after a pirate mutiny, so never returned to claim them. He sometimes placed the piece of eight in full view and sometimes not.
The captain chose locations of interest, all have parking paid or unpaid close by.
Please be careful retrieving and replacing the caches as some are in high landlubber (muggle) locations. Good luck me hearties!
Please do not remove/tamper with the coins, they are not the cache only a guide and mean the cache is nearby (usually within arm’s length).
Continue down the path to find a great little hidden bay, with a cafe and toilets, also check out the nearby military museums opening hours its worth a visit Try this link to the Brixham battery heritage centre (visit link) for details.
