San Quirico - Angera Il percorso è un anello intorno al Colle San Quirico passando dai Comuni di Ranco e Angera. Proseguendo per la vecchia strada per Ranco,in località Uponne a sinistra una mulattiera sale. Se volete potete salire con mezzi motorizzati fino ad uno spiazzo dopo la casa delle mucche. Sulla sommità del colle sorge la Chiesetta di San Quirico meta di processioni devozionali della popolazione di Angera il 16 luglio, giorno di S.Quirico. L’itinerario è complessivamente ben segnalato con la sigla VVL-N1 su tutta la segnaletica verticale bianco-rossa posta ad ogni punto di svolta. Esiste soltanto un brevissimo tratto impegnativo durante la salita nel bosco in prossimità della Chiesetta. La sua struttura, molto semplice ad una sola navata, denuncia due fasi distinte di costruzione: quella absidale, la più antica, e l'ingresso con il portico, la più recente. Sul lato destro è un breve campanile. Dallo spiazzo antistante vi è un bel panorama sul lago Maggiore. Altra piacevole passeggiata è raggiungere a piedi Ranco attraverso la vecchia strada ombreggiata che segue a mezza costa la riva del lago, ai piedi del S.Quirico. La Rocca Borromeo di Angera è facilmente raggiungibile a metà dell’itinerario. Nelle vicinanze vi è anche il Museo dei trasporti, unico in Europa, trae la propria originalità dal fatto che il mondo dei trasporti è ricostruito all'aperto attraverso una sequenza di mezzi, ambienti "nella loro vita e nel loro tempo", dagli inizi dell'800 ai giorni nostri. Si passa dalla ferrovia "eolica" a quella a vapore, dalle carrozze a cavalli alla ricostruzione di una fermata di metropolitana con tanto di vagone, dai trasporti pubblici a quelli privati. Da non perdere il plastico della "CITTA' IDEALE", realizzato con più di 20.000 pezzi, dove tutto è armoniosamente proporzionato: gli spazi verdi rispetto alle parti asfaltate, le piante di vario tipo, rispetto agli edifici, con l'ambientazione e il movimento di tutti i mezzi di trasporto attualmente in uso. E' un' opera grandiosa che, da sola, vale un viaggio a Ranco. San Quirico - Angera The route is a ring around the San Quirico’s hill, passing the municipalities of Ranco and Angera. From the forecourt there is a beautiful view of Lake Maggiore. Another pleasant walk is to walk through the old Rancho street below halfway up the lake at the foot of San Quirico’s hill. Rocca Borromeo can be easily reached in mid-route. Near there i salso the Transport Museum, unique in Europe, derives its originality from the fact that the world of transports is reconstructed through a sequence of resources, environments, "in their lives and in their time ", from the beginning of 800 at today. We can see from the “wind” railway to the steam one, from horse-drawn carriages to the reconstruction of a metro station with a lot of car, public and private transports. Do not miss the model of ‘IDEAL CITY' featuring more than 20,000 pieces, where everything is harmoniously proportioned: the green spaces in relation to paved zone, various types of plants, compared to buildings with the environment and the movement of all the transports currently in use. It is a great work which, alone, is worth a trip to Ranco
