10 YEARS OF GEOCACHING IN SOUTH AFRICA - UAE

"Sentinel View", the oldest active cache in South Africa was placed joined by Professor Merry on 18/01/2001. Look at the stunning view from the oldest SA cache below. Since then caching in SA has blossomed with many many excellent caches to be found in stunning locations.
While this cache cannot hope to live up to the scenic beauty of the first SA cache, it does have some merits of its own. While finding a cache location, we stopped to watch a few gazelles romp about. Further along we spotted horses and cattle,and a few camels. Looking around we are reminded of the desert area that is just on our doorstep. An easy, straight forward, cache for cachers who dislike puzzles. Just off a tar road it is easily reached, no climbing required. A request that it is placed and covered carefully as there is evidence of people passing and the road carries some traffic to the nearby compound and homes. Everything in the cache has a South African connection. Please note the green pen and log book are not trade items. Items traded do not have to be South African. The lock and lock is large enough to hold trade items, reasonable size travellers and geocoins. This cache can be done with other caches on the route starting at GC2JH0A , GC2M90M, GC2M90X GC2M968 ,GC2JNCK GC2JNJ0
