How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A popular site for view OR Tambo as you get a great view of the main aprons across the runways, and sight of the middle of both runways. It is also next to Safair apron which always has planes parked by the wall.

The cache site is at the back of the Soccer Fields which has access and a parking area frequented by plane spotters and the general public - so when the soccer fields are in use and muggles are parked watching the planes a certain amount of stealth will be required.

This is a popular spot for taking aircraft photos. You get the freighters taxing on taxiway H by the tower, which is slightly lower than the wall giving you a great view. Looking across the runways you can see the main terminal buildings and also get a view of both runways. Traffic however depends on the ground controllers so it can either be very busy or very quiet from this spot. However you always have something to view on the Safair apron. The sun is also behind you most of the day allowing for some great photos.

You can practically drive right up the cache but the area can be a little muddy when it rains so you can also park at the soccer fields and walk down.

The cache is a nano cache in plain sight if from the right angle. Please bring your own pen and roll-up the logsheet tight. Unfortunately there is no room for any treasure. Please return the nano in the same position so it will not catch the interest from the soccer field or the parked spectators.

Please post your pictures taken while visiting the cache and a camera is a great way to blend in to the surrounds and not look suspicious.
