I have been dragging my chicken claws for quite a wee while now
concerning placing my first cache, but now it's time:
This cache is placed in memory of my beloved nephew
Torben, who passed away a year ago on 11.01.2010.
We miss him so much.
I have chosen Glencoe for this little memory cache as it is my
favourite spot in the world - it combines the most beautiful and
breathtaking scenery with a sadness still palpable across the
valley, left by events long ago and still memorised in its
name.
And I am sure Torben would have loved this place, too – he
would have loved geocaching for that matter!
Where ever you are now, Torben, you are not
forgotten!

Now to the technical bits:
First of all I want to thank Scott, the very helpful and kind
property
manager of Glencoe and Dalness for the National Trust of Scotland
for
the permission to place this cache.
The cache itself is a small container which allows for little swaps
and
trackables.
Park just “underneath” the cache coordinates (there is
a parking space
for about 7 cars on that side of the road, and there is an even
bigger
parking space on the other side of the road a bit further down the
glen)
and from there just hop up the hill a few meters.
Enjoy the view first of all, before you go on your hands and knees
and
start searching!
And while you are in the area, why not pop into the beautiful and
very
educational Glencoe Visitor Centre just a few more miles down the
road?
It is worth a visit (and the soup there is delicious!) Click
here for their website.
Oh, and there is a wee presi for the FTF!
Happy hunting!
