Geocache Description:

Gone to the Dogs

Gone to the Dogs

Boo welcomes you to hunt for her cache with your own dog and hopes that you have a good time.

She's been my geocaching partner since I first discovered the hobby and like most dogs, she always enjoys the extra time spent outside.

Description edited 09/30/18 - the original field puzzle failed after many years of service. The new container is easier to open and keeps the original theme. Hopefully it will still give you a smile. I am leaving the original difficulty and size designations to keep from disrupting various geo-challenges. The container is now small, fitting only a log and pencil.

The cache is located in Meadowood Park and should be a very easy hike for you and your dog (but is not wheelchair accessible). Permission has been granted by the Bureau of Land Management. Please leave the cache exactly as you found it and use brains rather than brawn while opening the cache. The cache requires no picking, poking, prodding, ripping, flipping, moving, tearing, or otherwise altering to open. That being said, while the cache is easy to find, it takes some brainpower to get to the logbook. It'll be much easier if you bring your dog along! Only users who have physically signed the logbook should claim finds for this cache, however you are welcome and encouraged to post a note about your experience and your own geo-buddy even if you did not sign the logbook.

In your log make sure to tell us a bit about your best friend! Age, breed (or mix), personality quirks, and photos would be wonderful.

Doggie DOO'S and DON'TS

Do bring your dog!
Don't enter the park after dark.
Do keep your dog on a leash shorter than 6 feet.
Don't allow your dog to frighten any humans or horses that you may see on the trail
Do respect the environment and pick up any trash that you may find.
Don't destroy my cache! If it comes down to you tearing apart the cache to gain that little yellow smiley that only exists in cyber space, I'd rather you just log the smiley without the log. But don't destroy or vandalize my cache in the process. Be smart.
And most of all...Do have fun and enjoy the time spent with your best friend!
