Note: For the purpose of this puzzle, let's only deal
with 2D bricks instead of 3D.
I have with me 15 bricks of size 2x1 square unit.
I've always wanted to use all of them to build a rectangular brick
wall, 3-unit story high and 10-unit wide.. I'm now curious
on how many different arrangements we can do this. Please help me
find this number and I'll reward you with a cache ...
For your information, I've attempted to fill only up to 3x4 and
I know there are 11 different ways to do this ... I hope this
helps.
Call the number of different arrangements to do this X.
Divide X by 1000 and then:
- subtract it from the posted North coordinates, and
- add it to the posted West coordinates.
FTF Prize: A $1 gold coin
Checksum of X is 13.
Kudos goes to 40, who killed the puzzle
and nabbed the FTF. Congrats to Roktman as well for a very careful
calculations of the different arrangements.
