Get rid of the winter blues at St Faith's Church Hall, Morris Avenue, Llanishen, Cardiff on Saturday 5th February 2011 in the afternoon. An opportunity to socialise with fellow cachers but with a few fun games, challenges, etc thrown in.
The event will start at 2.00 p.m. and run until 5.00 p.m. Tea, coffee and squash will be provided but bring a plate of food to share around, if you wish. There is disabled access to the hall, but car parking has to be in the adjacent residential streets: please park considerately.
It is fine if you just want to sit and chat or only pop in for a few minutes, but the intention is to have some games, competitions and challenges running throughout the afternoon … as well as the first run of a new short presentation that should appeal to all geocachers, at whatever level of involvement in the hobby. It is intended that the fun activities will be suitable for all ages. The provisional (so may change) timetable will be something like this:

15.45 Know Your Caching Place (presentation)
16.00 Testing and scoring of construction challenge
17.00 Event finish
Note that the construction challenge will take about 20-30 minutes, so you don't need to be there all the time to take part in it.
This event will also be an opportunity to find out more about YOUR Mega Event in Swansea, in July – no formal presentations, but committee members will be readily identifiable, so take the opportunity to ask them any questions you may have. This will not be specifically a fundraising occasion for the Mega (i.e. no raffle or tombola), although coins, etc will be available for anyone who still wants them.
We will not be making any special arrangements to manage or look after Travel Bugs and Geocoins, but by all means bring your personal ones along to 'dip' into the event and show off for others to discover. If you want to drop off travellers into the event, please be prepared to pick up as many as you bring. It helps to identify a traveller's mission in your log and to label it with name and mission at the event. If you can help a bug on the way to its objective, please also note this in your attendance log.
