As I was driving in this area searching for a wayward cache, I
came across an attractive and well maintained vineyard. Since I
have fermented many a bottle of home made wine in my time, I was
interested in what grapes were being cultured. I found out from the
vigneron, to my amazement , that several varieties of Muscadine
grapes were being grown to produce many types of wine.
Now some facts to fill out this page.
You should know the difference between red and white wines
because one of the most revered rules of dining, is you should
complement your choice of food and drink. If you are consuming a
delicate, mild tasting food, chose a light wine. If the meal is
hearty, chose a stronger red wine. Now, after making this
statement, you may forget it!. Chose a wine you enjoy, Red OR White
OR Blush OR Champagne OR whatever. ENJOY!
If you are just starting out and are in a quandary whether to
get a sweet, medium sweet or dry wine, choose the dry wine. Again,
it may cause the Wine Oenophile, palpations, but you can add sugar
to the dry wine to bring it up to your level of enjoyment. There is
no way to make a sweet wine into a dry wine but easy to go the
other way. His Princess and I tend to enjoy the dryer
wines.
If you chose to start a vineyard, be prepared for quite a bit of
hands on work. I KNOW as I also grew grapes in Michigan.
If you chose to make your own wine, pay attention to detail.....
Read up on it. I suggest the book "Home wine-making without
failures" by H. E. Bravery. I found his techniques easy to
follow and his instructions quite accurate.
The owners of the vineyard gave permission to place a cache for
your enjoyment. If you happen to see the owners Larry & Lenora,
give them your thanks for their helpfulness. They also will give
you a complementary tour and wine tasting experience if
asked.

Congrats to Teamwilz and Stewieohno on their first to
find. We appreciate the chance to bring such happiness to a new
caching team.
