Extract from Captain Morgan's diary dated 1675.
At last I knew I was close to Merlin's tree as I reached the steely
entrance
to his wood. Pausing to speak the invocation of

into the magic compass I then made my way forward.
And there at last he stood gazing at the stream. Alas my hopes for
help were
all for aught. With a fierce scowl he raised his staff
and waved it at me. A thunderous sound ensued followed by a
blinding flash...
and so I found myself back where I had started..
Perchance you shall fare better than I for 'tis rumoured that great
treasure exists there.
