A short walk across a maintained grassy area will lead you towards the well hidden waterproof matchstick container. -----UPDATE----- The area was cleaned up when the car wash was built and the container went missing but was replaced on 6/2/13. The locust trees cut down in this Area are really trying to come back with a vengeance! I have trimmed and pruned a bit and the stump is not in any dangerous foliage. No need to go down over the bank towards the exit ramp.
It's is low in a small locust stump and not actually in the ground,but very close to it. This cashe is Located just off of the Lamar PA exit #173 of Interstate 80........Do not attempt access from the east bound exit ramp (fence)......or Route 64 (no parking)........Recommended access is from the Flying J truck stop/travel center. The right side parking area near the Denny's Restaurant entrance will get you the closest. NOTE:Please remember you’re involved in an outdoor activity and looking for a small hidden cache. Please don’t complain that the grass was wet,there’s litter or thorns. The hill was slippery or it was dark. There were Mosquitoes, ivy poison or dog poop. You couldn’t find a place to park or you lost your car keys. Sorry for the ranting. But also If you didn’t actually find the cache ( sign the log)don’t log it as a find because you assume it’s missing and looked long enough or you’re a long way from home and No one will know because you’re trying to increase the number of finds you have. If you’re looking for a cashe and dash this may not be one for most. On the good side it’s a good stop with several options for food and fuel. Another plus is the cashe is hidden in a large open area that’s semi secluded or distant enough to provide freedom from looking foolish while looking for the bugger! It offers a chance to stretch your legs if you’re on the “Big Road” for a long trip and could use a break or a bite to eat.
