The Heavy Airlift Wing is a multinational military airlift organization based at Pápa Air Base, Hungary. It was officialy activated on July 27, 2009 as part of the NATO Strategic Airlift Capability. The wing operates the C-17 Globemaster III.
The wing provides strategic airlift worldwide for humanitarian, disaster relief, and peacekeeping missions in support of the European Union, United Nations, and the NATO.
