Geocache Description:

Yorkley is a large village situated 2.5 miles north of Lydney and just under 8 miles south of Cinderford. The village sits on top of a hill at 600ft above sea level, giving panoramic views of the Severn and the Cotswold Hills. To the North the village is bounded by forest and to the south by agricultural land. Yorkley is also where I grew up and lived in a house overlooking Captains Green.

For cache number 2 continue on from 1 along the same good forestry track, going south and slightly west. The cache is in a quiet spot and should not prove at all difficult to locate. The path leading to the cache is muddy and wet at the moment, so would suggest wellies or walking boots until the drier weather returns. At the cache location note the rather strange stump sculptures to the left (West) of the path. After claiming the cache carry on along the path to the road - opposite the entrance to the Rising Sun PH. This could be your first refreshment stop - especially if you have joined the circular walk in Yorkley village, where there is free parking for a small number of cars at N51 45.692 W002 31.983. Thanks to the Forestry Commission for granting permission to place this cache.
