Geocache Description:

Danby Lodge is the large stone built property, in its own grounds, which is clearly visible in front of you after passing over Bailey Hill and past Cockshoot Wood.

Danby Lodge or Danby House did belong to the Forestry Commission for many years and was where the Forestry wardens were accommodated. It was sold into private ownership a few years ago and has lovely views to the front. Please do not enter the grounds of the lodge as the pathway does split here and you can go either in front of or behind the property. The pathway to the front of the property has the best views but the cache is along the path to the back of the house. Take care when grabbing the cache as it is close to a very popular path and please leave well hidden. This is a small to medium sized cache container with some room for small items inside. Thanks to the Forestry Commission for permission to place this cache.
