The hustle and bustle of ordinary life, the ringing phone that wont leave you alone is so close but just a few feet into the park and you're at Natures door. You dont have to go far to have some wonderful Nature adventures.
The coords were taken on an overcast day and there is plenty of tree cover. We all know that 10 - 30' off sometimes can be expected with poor reception so if you find the coods are Way Way off, like 50' or more, please send me a note and I'll try to go back on a nice clear day and average some better coords. ALSO, Ive come to know that park personnel dont particularly like seeing off - trail paths, you know, our GeoTrails. If you notice that we are wearing a cachepath pretty hard, please think about taking a little different route and maybe even try to erase the trail a little... and CITO. Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, a premier Harris County Precinct 4 nature preserve of over 300 acres, is open daily to visitors, free of charge. The park features a variety of plant and wildlife species, white sand beaches along Spring Creek, swamps and sloughs with century-old cypress trees, and a pristine floodplain hardwood and pine forest. All features are accessible by over six miles of all-weather, wheelchair- friendly paved trails and several primitive unpaved trails. The nature center and office is open daily*: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The park opens daily* at 8 a.m. and closes: 7 p.m. March–October 6 p.m. November and February 5 p.m. December and January The park entrance gate closes 30 minutes prior to the park’s closing time. *Closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
