This cache has been archived.

Growly Bear: As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The old grandstand at the domain just out of Sanson used to be used as part of the Manawatu Rugby Games circuit, but sadly run down now and no longer used.

Sanson is a small rural village near the Rangitikei River where State Highways 1 and 3 join. It is a lovely community which embraces Sanson School, Sanson Community Centre/Library and the Sanson Pool. Locals keep fit walking around the Village and they can exercise their pets at the Sanson Domain. Located only 5 mins from Bulls, 10 mins to Feilding and 15 mins to Palmerston North, Sanson is extremely central and the climate is good too. Harrisville, a private speedway track, is a short drive towards Bulls near RNZAF Ohakea airbase. Harrisville is a drawcard for family speedway entertainment. Accommodation can be booked at the Junction Motel and the Sanson Motel. The Sanson Club is a friendly meeting place. There's a mixture of established homes and two new subdivisions.

Sanson has a great selection of arts and crafts shops, antiques, art galleries, Rainbow garden furniture, eateries, cafes and the favourite outdoor market every Sunday. There's the award-winning mobile coffee kiosk, a car yard, and there are many enterprising owner/operators in Sanson including engineer Ross Barnaby, internationally trained beauty therapist (Beauty by Debz), to garden furniture (Weekend Craft). The Shell petrol station can provide you with a selection of grocery items, and you can buy a tractor, maybe, at the two agricultural machinery outlets.

Cache has log book, pencil and usual things to swap out
