Beckoning (Central Otago) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Onslow Fisherman: The chirp beacon has been stolen and I won't be replacing it hence this archiving.
It was fun doing the original, so I was repeatedly told.

Geocache Description:

A Chirpy, Ethereal, "Come Hither !!"

There is NO cache at the given coordinates, only a place to park your vehicle.

You will need to be careful when crossing the main road.

From here you will need to walk about 52 metres North and then walk North West until you get the signal. Keep moving slowly NW when you get a signal as the closer you get to the beacon the stronger that signal will be. The is no need to leave the footpath on this dead end street. It's a short street and pretty much traffic free.

There is NO cache where the beacon is hidden and you don't need to be able to see that device to get the signal.

However the beacon is transmitting and its' signal will be received by any Chirp capable device that is within range and is set to receive. A note of advice when using an Oregon GPSr they need to be set to "Search" well before you get within range otherwise they can be a bit "sticky".(see FAQs link below)

What it's transmitting is the coordinates of, and hint for, the final

This is a "Chirp" only cache, no alternative method of finding it is being given. You will need to have, or have access to, a chirp capable GPSr or equivalent. See the website link below for help.

I am happy to help with a find; email me at onslowfisherman@gmail.com and we can make some mutually suitable arrangements for you to use my GPSr. Or if you need some help ring, or text, me on 0272731068
