Fraser Park is one of the busiest sports grounds in the Hutt Valley region and is highly used all year round by a range of winter and summer sports codes. Many a Hutt Valley sports representative has played their first game of soccer, hockey, cricket, softball or rugby here.
As part of a Hutt City Council project, the eight sports clubs and organisations who are based at Fraser Park are working together under one new organisational banner to create a sporting hub – called Sportsville. The Sportsville organisation held it’s first AGM in 2010.
It is planned that as part of the Sportsville project the Fraser Park clubrooms and training facilities will get a major development over the next few years with the various codes sharing costs, overheads and facilities.
If successful the Fraser Park Sportsville project will significantly improve the facilities on this park and result in more kids in the Hutt Valley being active and enjoying sport. Maybe in years to come a geocaching club will be part of the Sportsville family? Watch this space!
The cache is a 200ml camo sistema container with log-sheet and room for small swaps. At time of placing, included 'I Love Geocaching' GeoCoin - TB22J30.
