Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving Day, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. The day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic, which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. Also, "Black Friday" indicates the period during which retailers are turning a profit, or "in the black."
This cache is dedicated to all the moms out there that brave the long lines and the cold weather (in some states) to see the joy on their child's face when they wake up Christmas morning. Black Friday wasn't as big of a deal while I was growing up, but I'd like to think my mom would have endured those long lines to get me my first Atari 2600.
