A moderate walk in this beautiful secluded valley.
This walk begins at Hartsop, a small village to the east of Brother's Water, half way between Patterdale (to the north) and the Kirkstone Pass Inn (to the south). Leaving the eastern end of Hartsop, the path heads south-east and immediately forks. Take the route heading south, cross the beck and follow the path south-east, alongside Pasture Beck. Pasture Beck, lies between two superb, grassy ridges. To the west is Hartsop Dodd and to the east is Gray Crag. The path continues through Pasture Bottom, south-south-east, and into Threshthwaite Cove, although you don't need to go quite that far to collect the cache, which is just by the path below Raven Crag which we thought looked quite distinctive - like the profile of a Roman Emperor - it's a marker as you're walking anyway (if you can see it as we did) as to how far there is to go. We only met one fellow walker the whole of the walk - so if its a bit of peace and quiet you're after you should enjoy this one.
