"Sakanishi Yokoana Bo Gun" ( Sakanishi group of tomb with horizontal hole ) is located near the cache point.
In 1974, tomb No.1 with horizontal hole was hound during a road construction work of a land re-adjustment project.
Finally, 7 tombs with horizontal holes were found within the range of 50 m along a railway and a road.
These were considered that these were constructed in the 7th century.
Now a day, 3 of 7 tombs are stored as historical site.
Container's shape is cylinder.
This can be separated by twisting like screw.

日野駅から線路伝いに八王子方面に歩くと看板が立っています。
そこには、この辺り一帯に坂西横穴墓群がある事が示されています。
1974年の土地区画整理の工事によって第１号の横穴墓が発見され、
その後の調査で全部で７号の墓が検出されました。
そのうち、第１号、第３号、第４号が保存されています。
構築年代は７世紀後半と考えられています。
墓には盗掘の跡もあったようですので、
キャッシュを取る際には墓泥棒と間違われないように気をつけてください。
コンテナは筒状でねじのように捻ると本体が取り出せます。
キャッシュにはペンが入っていません。筆記用具をお持ちください。
