Many of you have probably heard great stories or watched videos of amazing wedding proposals... And while we don’t have video of it, we have pictures, a Geo-proposal story and a CACHE hidden in its place!
A long time ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away.....Ok just joking, wrong story!
On Oct 1, 2010 a call was made to 1 half of Team Yo Mama as she was on her way to the beach for the weekend. She was told a cache was just posted and to hurry up and get here. The call was strategically made when she was about 10 mins away for several reasons: 1.) She wouldn’t be able to load her GPS and she would have to use mine. 2.) It put a sense of urgency to get here faster so we/she could find it.
However, she didn’t know that there wasn’t really an active geocache there. There was a cache there, but it was one I planted earlier in the day and made fake coordinates for in my GPS.
She gets to the house and we race off to find it. We race to the park and the whole drive there I am selling the cache by saying I hope Ranger TJ, Nursemate, or Searenity haven't found it yet!
As we approach the cache we start looking for it (and of course I am looking in all the wrong places). Minutes later I hear "I found it!!!" She opens the Cache up and the log reads: SHANA WILL YOU MARRY ME? With a Check YES or NO option! As she is reading it she lets out a super high pitch happy screech and I am down on 1 knee, ring in hand! :)
It was by far our favorite smiley ever! We decided to put a cache in the spot where it happened to share our Geo-Proposal story with all of you!
