Pier for the Maine Department.
There is an lovely example of a small royal barge. One made for a princess in the period of Rama V. It will seem strange walking through the department to get to the Pier but that is what is done. The rest of the world is all worked up around security and preventing access where as here we walk through government departments and one can look at old boats like the one there which are not under lock & key. I asked if I could open the gate to get a better pictures and I got a look of "are you mad?" but of course.
Got to love Thailand
This is also the beginning of Chinatown if you are coming from Sathorn/Silom area.
After Marine department it is all shops selling engines and parts of engines.
