Can't believe that this cemetery has gone this long without a cache.
The cemetery sits on 36 acres of land at the corner of Broadway and Centennial Streets in Pittsburg.
Highland Park is the successor of the old Pittsburg Cemetery also known as the Hobson Cemetery. The Hobson Cemetery is now part of Highland Park and is in the northwest section on Broadway. The oldest recorded burial in the cemetery is August 1, 1872.
Highland Park Cemetery has over 15,000 burials, including many founders of the city government, local businesses and institutions. It is estimated that only half of the land in Highland Park Cemetery has been used and there is enough land to serve the needs of Pittsburg and surrounding communities for over 150 years.
For those interested, Hockabee has a challenge that requires you to find 100 caches with cemetery in the name. It can be found at GC2YY00.
Congratulations to jswright for FTF
