While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Cachen er plassert ved Bragenes torg. Den er en liten plastboks, magnetisk. Den er vanskelig å logge pga. mye aktivitet. Her må en virkelig passe på!

Bragernes har i mange hundre år vært den sentrale plassen for handel i Drammen, i hvert fall på nordsiden av elva. Markedet ble i 1745 flyttet fra nåværende Gamle Kirkeplass til Bragernes torg, og da Strømsø og Bragernes ble slått sammen til én by i 1811 var det ikke noe særlig torg.
I årene 1853 og 1854 kom den første store økningen av torget, og torgets bredde ble på over 60 meter. Likevel er den store bybrannen på Bragernes i 1866 hovedgrunnen til at Bragernes torg er Norges største torg, og et av Nordens største.
Innbyggerne i kommunen valgte Bragernes torg til tusenårssted ved tusenårsskiftet. Torget ivaretar en rekke bymessige funksjoner, og er møteplass, handelstorg og festplass. Blant annet kunne 30 000 mennesker beskue verdenscuprennet i sprintlangrenn på torget i 2003.

The heart of the city is Bragernes Torg. Bragernes Torg provides the setting for numerous events, especially in summer when a colourful, fascinating market sells agricultural produce, flowers and plants.
