Please rehide well. Petros Lake is a 94-acre park named for the family on whose land the lake was built. Since then, the Stark County Park District has built two covered picnic shelters, a sand volleyball court, a horseshoe court, a 1.2-mile hiking trail, and two short nature trails.
Primarily open grasslands, a habitat restoration project currently underway is transforming this former farm into a prairie. Walk along the trails to see prairie plants such as grey headed cone flowers and black-eyed susans and large hardwoods such as shagbark hickory, red oak, black oak, black cherry, and hawthorn. Enjoy your hike.
