Hey,
Cacher!
Every
trip I make to Hood River, I fit in breakfast at the Charburger.
Sometimes I only get here once a year and, since that trip is
guaranteed (as much as such things can be), I look forward to my
breakfast the whole year long.
This
year my trip is scheduled so I get breakfast on March 6th, and
I’d like to invite you to join me. How does 9:30
sound?
We can
talk about caching, get some hints on some tough hides or puzzles,
share favorite cache stories, and trade travel bugs and geocoins.
If you have some travelers that want to go north, you can give them
to me as I’ll be heading that way after
breakfast.
This
is where I’d show you a picture of my favorite breakfast, the
traditional French toast. Unfortunately, I have never been able to
wait long enough to take a picture of it once it’s in front
of me, and I only think of it when I’m sopping up the last
traces of marionberry syrup with the last bite. You’ll just
have to come get some of your own.
Ok,
you don’t have to try my favorite meal, but I highly
recommend it. This is a caching event and so it’s all about
caching, not breakfast. However, they also make amazing omelets and
other food (like cinnamon rolls) I’m too full to try once
I’ve had the French toast. But seriously, you can just
come and visit, that’s okay, too.
I
don’t know if you’ve been here before, so let me tell
you how it works. There are two doors to the restaurant on the west
side. We’ll be meeting in the back room (which is in the
south end of the building) so if you want to go there first, you
can take the south door, go in and then hang right, just before the
bathrooms. If you want to order first, go to the north door, go in
and stand at the counter. Peruse the menu boards and decide what
you want, then go to the end of the counter and place your order.
You’ll pay, then be given a tray with a number card,
silverware, napkin and drink on it, which you carry to the back
room. It works pretty slick, but it’s a bit different than
most restaurants, the layout is kinda rambling, and I don’t
want you to feel uncomfortable so I thought I’d
explain.
If you
want to, you could come in through the south door, claim your seat
and then go order. Or come in the north door and just work your way
to the back. I really don’t care as long as you come on in
and sign the logbook, and visit a bit! I also don’t care if
this if your first event, or if you haven’t even found a
cache yet, or if you’ve found or placed more caches than I
have. I’m pretty easy that way. One of the best things about
events is getting to know people that you can later call up and say
you need help on a tough cache, or ask them to go caching with you
the following week.
So,
see you on Sunday, March 6th at 9:30 at the Charburger. I’m
looking forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Craftea
