Just off the Rangatira point walking track. This track follows the lake edge through native bush and has some great views.
The cache is a camoed eclipse mint tin hidden in a hole. It has only room for a log book and pencil, but as the pencils keep disappearing it would pay to bring your own. Your GPS will probably not work well at the cache location. A torch would be of assistance, but is not essential.
The area is inhabited by rarely seen native creatures, which are harmless, so please be careful not to harm them.
This area is ripe for exploring if you are into a bit of bush bashing. There are enclosed coves, rock formations, and beautiful regenerated bush in this area. ENJOY.
Please take note of the cache's hidey hole when you find it so that you can return it to its proper place. There is a spot of white paint beside its home.
Bring your own pen or pencil, the small one in the cache disappears regularly.
Be careful with children in this area. It is not far from the lake and there are some drops into deep water nearby.
