Geocache Description:

Thirteenth in a series of 16 caches between Edgeworth and Bisley. The full series involves an 8 mile walk which may be muddy in places.

From Lock-up, walk down road and turn L at Stop sign to Stirrup Cup. Cross to Van der Breen Street passing Hamstead Cottages named after a previous owner, Captain John Hamstead who was one of Nelson's captains at Trafalgar.
Take first field path on R to join Hayhedge Lane.
Cache is a small clip-lock container.

In 1846, 40% of Bisley's 5500 parishioners were unemployed due to ending of Napoleonic wars and demise of cloth trade. Many emigrated to the New World with assistance from Rev Thomas Keeble.
The formerly prosperous village became known as "Beggarly Bisley"
