Geocache Description:

A small geocache on top of Polvadera Peak.
There are no established trails, and it's a little bit of a rolling up and down terrain. So, plan enough time (4hrs), take necessary safety precautions, and enough water in the summer.
The access described in the following, requires a high clearance vehicle.

The peak can be accessed from several sides (south, north, and east), but I'll describe one possibility from the east as a choice. Take the Lemitar exit off I 25, and drive north on the western frontage road (the side of the truck stop). Pass two cattle guards and turn west at about N 34 11.751, W106 55.516. This dirt road definitely requires high clearance, though not necessary 4WD. Go due west through two gates (close behind you), until N34 11. 727, W 106 58.284...park your car here. .
From parking area (there is a little shrine in the rocks too), follow the road on foot and try to make your way eventually up the ridge line to your right (again, there is multiple ways to reach the top)...following ridge lines with some up and down, you should finally get to the last steep summit ascend.
The cache is small, contains log and pencil, a hot pink maglite, a pedometer (to count your steps back down), a whistle and a bracelet.
There is a summit log in a white PVC pipe as well, please don't confuse with actual geocache!

Good Luck, and enjoy the view!!
