Puzzled, Ithaca Edition: 2/2/11 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

teamajk: I rarely come out this way any more, but was here today and decided to bring this one in. As large as it was, I am surprised at how well it lasted in this location. It was actually found pretty regularly by muggles, but they were always the good kind who just signed in and left it alone. When I found it today, other than one broken tab it was in great condition - nice and dry and containing the original log book from 9 years ago. After that long on duty I think it's earned a nice, easy retirement. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

This cache is the second in a series of puzzle caches to be placed in the Ithaca area. We hope to place one each month. You can find the first in this series here. If you are still having a lot of trouble solving that one, check the log from 2/1. You'll have to do the ROT13 yourself, but the solving method will be completely spelled out.

The posted coordinates above are for parking at the trailhead of the newly opened Lansing Town Trail (see this website for information and a map). The trail is closed after dark. No motorized vehicles, bikes, or horses allowed. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed and cleaned up after. Cache is a medium sized lock & lock with room for trade items and is stocked with some fun pins to trade and a postcard with a 30 day free trial premium membership to Geocaching.com for the first non-premium member to find. Cache is hidden only a few steps from the trail. Please use stealth and re-hide as well or better than you found it. Solve the puzzle below for the coordinates.

It's Groundhog Day!
Who knows whether we're in for six more weeks of winter, or an early spring?
Who knows how to translate this top secret cipher alphabet
to get the coordinates to the cache?

Thanks, Puxsutawney Phil!
