Geocache Description:

For this cache you will need to fly to the Seven Wonders of the World. For the South coordinates visit the 7 Ancient Wonders and for the East coordinates, visit the 7 Wonders of the Middle Ages. Don't be in too much of a hurry. Linger a while and look around.

At the listed coordinates you will find a lovely little beach with views of a platform tower where ospreys nest.The cache is not far away.


At each of the Wonders, you must obtain the coordinates in the format DD MM... no more accurate than that. Do not round up to the nearest minute

A) The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios. Many older illustrations show the statue with one foot on either side of the harbor mouth with ships passing under it:This is unlikely. A=minutes east first digit.
B) The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one remaining largely intact. B= the number of minutes north .
C) The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were supposedly built by king Nebuchadnezzar II around 600 BC to please his wife who was home-sick for the beautiful and fragrant plants of her homeland. C=the number of degrees east
D) The Lighthouse of Alexandria was a tower built between 280 and 247 BC on the island of Pharos. It was for many centuries among the tallest man made structures on Earth D= the number of degrees north
E) The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was a tomb built at Halicarnassus (now called Bodrum) in Turkey between 353 and 350 BC for a man called Mausolus. It stood approximately 45 m in height, and each of the four sides was adorned with sculptural reliefs. E=the number of minutes east.
F) The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Greece, was a seated statue of the chief of the gods, made of ivory and gold-plated bronze, about 13 meters tall, occupying half of the width of the aisle of the temple built to house it. F=the number of degrees east.
G) The Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, Turkey, was a Greek temple dedicated to a goddess also known as Diana. It was completed around 550 BC. Foundations and sculptural fragments of the temple remain today. G=the number of degrees east.
H) The Hagia Sophia is a former Orthodox patriarchal basilica, later a mosque, and now a museum .Famous in particular for its massive dome, it is considered the epitome of Byzantine architecture. I) The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre built in the centre of Rome, Italy. It is the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and Roman engineering. Its construction started in 72 AD. I=the number of minutes north
J) The Porcelain Tower of Nanjing is also known as the Temple of Gratitude. It was a pagoda constructed in the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty.The tower was octagonal with a base of about 30 m in diameter. When it was built, the tower was one of the largest buildings in China, rising up to a height of 79 m with nine stories and a staircase in the middle which spiraled upwards for 184 steps. K) The Tower of Pisa is a campanile, or freestanding bell tower. The height of the tower is between 55.86 m and 56.70 m. Construction of the tower occurred in three stages across 177 years. L) The Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa is a necropolis consisting of a series of tombs, statues and archaeological objects merging Roman, Greek and Egyptian cultural points; some statues are Egyptian in style, yet bear Roman clothes and hair style. M) Stonehenge in Salisbury, England,is one of the most famous sites in the world. It is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. It is at the centre of a dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments including several hundred burial mounds
