The 'Lock' Ness Monster Traditional Cache

A lovely walk alongside the Ripon canal to find this magnetic cache. Beware of muggles and muddy terrain. Bring a pen to sign the log.
Ripon canal is one of the most northerly in England. It runs for just 2.5 miles from Ripon town centre to it's junction with the River Ure at Oxclose Lock, where this cache can be found.
The shortest walk to this cache involves driving down Green Lane in Littlethorpe and parking on the grass on side of the canal. You have to drive over a 'very' steep narrow bridge (Rentons Bridge) over the canal, but from there it is a quick 1/2mile walk to the cache site.
For those wishing to enjoy a longer walk, parking can be found at Ripon Racecourse Marina, from where you can walk the full length of the canal and enjoy the sights along the way.
Please be aware that the tow path can get very muddy when the weather has been poor.
