This cache will require you to use three different pieces of
signaling technology. GPS, Wifi, and Chirp. If you, or someone you
are caching with, does not have a Chirp compatible device, you will
not be able to complete this cache.
The coordinates listed above will take you to a location where
you should be able to use a Chirp compatible device to detect a
Chirp signal, and obtain the coordinates to the second point. If
your Chirp enabled device is working correctly, it should
automatically download the waypoint to your device.
The second set of coordinates will lead you to a residential
street where you will need to use any device capable of detecting a
Wifi signal. This includes a laptop, cell phone with Wifi
capability, or any other Wifi detector. You will need to obtain the
SSID (Wifi hotspot name) to obtain the final set of coordinates. Be
aware that there are many hotspots in that area so be sure to look
for the one that resembles a set of GPS coordinates.
The final set will lead you to the physical cache which has been
hidden in Riverview. It is a 50cal ammo can and should be easy to
find. The final location is NOT winter friendly but the first two
are.
Both the first and second stages are in a residential area so
please use stealth. You should not need to get out of your car to
pick up the necessary signals.
Now the tech & disclaimer stuff
- This cache uses a Garmin Chirp. Please make sure you have a
chirp compatible GPS and that the firmware has been updated to the
most recent version to allow you to receive the chirp signals. You
can check here and here for more
information.
- The wifi part of the cache requires you to only find the name
of the hotspot. You do not need to connect to it, and any
connections won't matter anyway since the hotspot is not connected
to the internet or any other network. It is just a
broadcaster.
