Bluff Stuff Dupont Springs Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Elorabug: Hate to get rid of an older cache, but time to let this one go. The coordinates jump quite a lot here, and that is often a problem. One I can't do anything about.

Geocache Description:

Where the "still" waters flow.Small camoed container. Small trinkets and geocoin. Park at the end of pavement and walk in.

In the late 1890's, Sevier County became a tourist destination as wealthy people from Knoxville, and other cities came to the mountains in summer to escape city heat. Dupont Springs Hotel stood on a site not far from this cache. It was a two-story structure and was surrounded by privately owned cottages. Guests were transported up a narrow trail in wagons to enjoy the panoramic view and cooler temperatures.
