[RO] Situata la 15 km de oras si avand o suprafata de aproximativ 400 hectare, Padurea Garboavele reprezinta unul din cele mai cunoscute locuri de recreere pentru galateni. In aceasta padure se intalnesc stejarul brumariu, stejarul pufos, salcamul, precum si numeroase specii floristice si de arbusti. Jumatatea vestica a padurii este rezervatie naturala, in partea estica desfasurandu-se activitati de recreere.
Accesul in Padurea Garboavele se face dinspre drumul national DN24D. La intrarea in padure se afla gradina zoologica a orasului Galati, vizitabila de miercuri pana duminica. In apropiere gasim un mic muzeu al satului, deschis in perioada verii. In padure sunt amenajate numeroase locuri pentru picnic si gratare, precum si spatii de joaca pentru copii. Tot aici exista complexuri turistice cu restaurante, locuri de cazare si agrement. In timpul verii se percepe o taxa de acces.

[EN] Located 15 km from the city and having an area of about 400 hectares, Garboavele Forest is one of the most popular recreational areas for the citizens of Galati. The forest is a habitat for Pedunculate Oak, Downy Oak, Locust, and numerous species of flora and shrubs. The western half of the forest is a nature reserve, while in the eastern part recreational activities are allowed.
Access to Garboavele Forest is from DN24D national road. At the forest entrance you find a zoo, open from Wednesday to Sunday. Nearby there's a small village museum, opened in the summer. In the forest there are numerous places designed for picnics and barbecues, as well as playgrounds for children. Further away there are resorts with restaurants, accommodations and entertainment. During the summer an access fee has to be paid.
