Geocache Description:

This is a cameo lock and lock cache hanging (WF) off a majestic pine tree on the shores of Fenerty Lake. This one was placed on a cross country outing skiing along the shoreline of Horse Shoe Lake crossing over next to my Portage Cache and then following the shore of Fenerty Lake.

If you are attempting this in winter please ensure ice is thick enough.

David Barrett of Barrett Lumber in Halifax County, have made concerted efforts to manage access to company property for the benefit of all. His goal is to have as many people as possible enjoy the outdoors by having them sign-on to a land stewardship approach to recreation. It's 100% free just please register at 252-3137 for access. Detailed conditions for use of the trail system (active logging area) is described on the sign posted at the gate.

Take Beaver Bank road to Pinehaven Dr. to Lakeland street and park at the end maintaining clear of the gate. From here it is about 3km plus to the cache. You can walk, ride your bike or ski/snowshoe to this area depending on conditions. The final portion to the cache is a bushwack from the trail following a new clearcut/logging path which may be quite wet in spots but should be able to stay dry on high ground.
