Geocache Description:

Released just in time for Halloween 2012, the “Haunted Marlborough Series (HMS)” celebrates the rumored historical hauntings of this fine Metro-West city with many colonial roots.

Welcome to Howe-Stevens Playground!!!
This is the home of the famous standpipe water tower, which can be seen from miles around. The area is now a multi-use park - but it was once the area of a reservoir, which was located next to the standpipe.

You are looking for a two-stage multi with two micro containers. There is only a short walk needed for both. No bushwhacking is required at either stage.

Many stories have been told about spirits lurking around the tower. There have been stories of people who have climbed to the top and jumped, committing suicide. There is also one prevalent story about a young boy who fell into the water tower when he was climbing – and his body was never retrieved… Apparently, he’s still in there! Sometimes his spirit has been seen walking around the base of the tower – and other times he has been walking along the top rim of the standpipe. You will need to pass close by the standpipe. So, be on the lookout for the little guy!!!

Benchmarking Note:
MY3663 (designation “Marlboro Water Tower”) is, quite obviously, the closest.
