Due to continued vandalism, the Tunstall Geocache has been moved to a more secure area. Hint: It's not on the ground. Look to the trees! This cache is in a water proof box with pencil, log and some swag.
The cache is a plastic water proof container. It contains a log book, pencil and swag. Thomas Todd Tunstall was pilot on the steamboat Waverly that came up the White River past what is known as Jacksonport, today to Batesvilles in 1831. Later in 1839, Captain Tunstall established the town of Jacksonport on the White River. To learn more about the history of Jacksonport and the park, stop at the visitor center and visit with the park staff. Geocache permit 22-8.
