Geocache Description:

First To Find bragging rights go to Corvettekent! Just under three hours after posting. Maybe it's the car?

Fire Station 90 is one of five stations run by North County Regional Fire Authority (NCRFA). Covering just over 100 square miles NCRFA is one of the largest fire districts in Snohomish County. Its borders are the waterfront at Port Susan and Warm Beach going north and jogging around the city of Stanwood then to the Skagit county line, following the county line east crossing I5 and SR9 to the ends of Grandview and the Pilchuck Tree Farm. It then follows the Stilly river back south west through Silvana where it cuts south again to Port Susan.
Located on Kackman Rd, or 252nd street depending upon how long you have lived in the area, Station 90 served as the heart of District 18 for many years. When districts 14 and 18 merged to form NCRFA a few years back the administration and the chief officers were moved to station 97 in the Warm Beach area. Staffing levels at this station are currently four, three firefighters and one paramedic. Recently added to the stations location is the training prop to the south of the station. Although it looks only like a few shipping containers it is actually a series of rooms and obstacles used to train firefighters for search and rescue operations in zero visibility situations. Other props include a door with no building used for forcible entry training, a fake roof for ventilation training and other things that have been burned, cut, tied, and climbed.
Apparatus responding from firehouse 90 include
• Engine 90 – A 2005 Pierce Contender rescue style pumper. Featuring a 1500 GPM Waterous fire pump, 1000 watt power inverter for scene lighting, and a Federal Q siren. The Q siren gives E-90 a unique sound that can be picked out from among other types of sirens.
• Aid 90 – A Brawn ambulance body mounted on a Ford E-series chassis A-90 provides Basic Life Support (BLS) to the surrounding community.
• Tender 90 – A 2500 gallon Firehorse water tank mounted on a 1992 Freightliner chassis carries water from the scarce number of hydrants in the area to the fire scene.
• Brush 90 – A 2009 Ford F-550 chassis with a separate engine driven pump and simplistic plumbing this vehicle was built and designed for fighting fire in the woods. This is one of the few vehicles that is allowed to leave the fire authority. During the summer months this vehicle gets to fight forest fires with Department of Natural Resources all over the state of Washington.
• Medic 90 – A brawn ambulance body mounted on a Ford E-series chassis M-90 provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) to the Bryant area. Where this vehicle differs from A-90 is the amount of training involved in the people on board. ALS paramedics are highly trained and able to perform many life saving procedures that BLS providers are not.
I have placed this cache here with the permission of the fire chief however not all the firefighters are aware of it. Please be considerate and use some stealth. Happy Hunting
