1169 feet above sea level
The cache marks the highest point on the famous Settle-Carlisle line, though the hiding-place is not actually on the line, so it is slightly higher than 1169 feet above sea level. Access is from the footpath to Hell Gill (and bridleway past Intake) at Aisgill Moor Cottages, but turn right along the faint footpath after the bridge over the railway to follow the line south for a short distance to the summit where there are two large signs. The cache is well back from railway property. (The alternative approach via the footpath from White Birch is not recommended because it is much further round and there is a line crossing that could be dangerous for children.)
