Geocache Description:

Rich's Riches is located just off the footpath that runs through this part of Shaw Wood (this area is locally known as Basil Wood). This is one of three caches placed in Shaw Wood by our troop, the other two caches are Becci’s Booty & Lottie's Loot.

Shaw Wood has been a recorded woodland site for over seven centuries. In 1985 it was bought by Doncaster council to ensure it’s survival by carrying out essential maintenance following years of neglect/non-management.

Although the cache is placed just off the main path, the entire woodland is open to public use, and there are many paths to explore.

Please enjoy but respect the surroundings.

The best parking for all three caches (avoiding parking outside properties) is near the bridleway entrance on Mere Lane at N53 32.642 W001 03.645, although alternative entrances to the wood can be found from Basil Avenue and Mansfield Crescent.
