Centennial park was created to commemorate 100 years of local government and education in Waroona. The park is also the original site of the Drakesbrook School which ran from 1898 to1988. The restored building was burnt to the ground on 26 July 2005. There is a mini replica of the school near where it was built. This is a lovely park for the kids to have a run or just relax.
Our beautiful niece loves geocaching with us when she visits. Unfortunately she has always lived in remote areas where there are no caches. She has just moved to Waroona and was excited at the thought of finding caches in her new town. This was not the case however as when we looked on the map there were none. That has now changed. We have placed a series of caches in and around the Waroona area that she will keep watch on for us. There are 10 caches that all can be logged as an individual find and they all have a code in the back of the log book which will lead you to the final cache. All caches are within 20 meters of parking. Brie hopes you will come and visit her little town and have fun finding her hides. BRING PEN TO ALL.
