Geocache Description:

Another new cache on Rolla's ACORN trail system for hiking and biking. The system will eventually connect 9 of the city's parks. You can get a map of the trail here: (http://www.rollacity.org/parks/images/acorn-trail.jpg ) ACORN stands for A Community Organization to Restore Nature, which is one of many civic-minded organizations involved in the creation of this trail system. There's a small ACORN Trail parking lot at Pine Tree Road (Hwy O), and you can walk or bike to this cache from that direction.

One of the nice touches along the ACORN Trail is the planting of trees that memorialize those who have passed on. There are many of them along the trail, placed by friends and family. At the listed coordinates you'll find a tree planted in memory of a man who died suddenly in 1999.

This is a simple offset cache. To find the location of the cache container, take the year of his birth, subtract 1058, and use the resulting number as the last three digits of the north coordinate. For the west coordinate, take the year of death, subtract the year of birth, add 115, and use the result as the last three digits of the decimal minutes. The cache is a camo'd sample tube. BYOP.

This cache has been placed with permission from the Rolla Parks Department, and they would like you to note in your logs where you come from. Thanks!
