We all were geocachers but none of
us knew each other and some of us didn’t even know other
geocachers!! In 2007 Cbianca and Mtncachers met trying to get a FTF
at night and decided to cache some trails together. Girls
don’t do trails alone. The next day, Mrsblueman emailed
Cbianca and said she noticed they were finding the same caches
could they cache together so she joined us and we hiked a trail the
next week. We began caching regularly together. Mtncachers met
snoopdoggydee about 6 months later at a geocaching information
project Rick618 had at the VBCC for tour guides. She was quickly
added to our group of three. We have been caching together ever
since and usually on Thursday. We have a great time, been through a
lot together, and have become best of friends. Known to stop for
antique stores, gift shops, and bakeries and have even gone to
Seattle together to pay homage to Groundspeak. We go caching
together on each other’s birthdays and sometimes we just meet
for lunch. See, there is a girly side of geocaching. We have been
called various names over the years but somehow the Desperate Cache
Wives has seemed to stick. So I guess it is time to embrace the
name.
Since caching together
we’ve all had events but we’ve never given an event
together. This will be our first event and we wanted it to reflect
us. So we named it the Sassy Side of Geocaching. We are hosting a
Brunch for you! The Desperate Cache Wives invite you to join us for
a brunch at the Green Mountain Nature Trail Pavilion on Saturday
morning, March 12th beginning at 9:30. There will be plenty of
delicious food, hot coffee, great friends, awesome giveaways and
plenty of caching available afterwards.
If you are a new geocacher we
encourage you to come. Events are a great way to meet local cachers
and learn more about this addictive sport.
Please RSVP by logging a will
attend and how many will be in your party so we know how many to
prepare for brunch. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 12th.
