This is a regular container with a lot of treasure (for the kids) it is a pretty easy location which is for children to find.
This area can be very muddy after rain fall so wellies should be the choice of footwear and maybe a change of clothes in-case the kids get to clarity.
East Cramlington Nature Reserve
The site has free, open access throughout. No rights of way run through the site, but a series of permissive paths criss-cross the site. There are access points along the B1326 and from a track near the North Moor Farm.
The National Grid has the right to bring vehicles onto the site when maintaining power cables.
In addition members of a local model airplane club have vehicular access
Within the south-east sector, a medium sized pond supports a wide range of invertebrates and amphibians including common frog, common toad, palmate newts and great created newts.
A couple of swans breed on the pond each year and it is frequented by mallard ducks, coots and moorhens. Bats have also been spotted flying over the pond.
The site is of value to a range of declining lowland farm birds including skylark, song thrush, linnet, grey partridge and yellow hammer.
The grassland is dominated by a range of species including common bent, soft brome, red fescue, Yorkshire fog and sweet vernal grass. Tufted hair grass is common in wetter areas.
Butterflies include small copper, orange tip, green-veined white, wall, large skipper and large white.
This cache has been set with the permission of Northumberland County Council Woodland Manager.
