A small hide containing log book only hidden very near both a major tourist attraction and significant historical landmark.
This cache is hidden near the historic Kawarau River Suspension Bridge, or more commonly known as the Bungy Bridge.
The bridge was commissioned in 1880 and was significant due to the fact that the Gold Miners coming into the area now had a much safer route across the dangerous Kawarau River.
Now, the bridge is the sight of the Worlds First Commercial Bungy site which started in 1988. It's a mind bending 43 metres (147 feet) to the river below and the Bungy Jump from here is not for the faint hearted!
The cache is a 250ml container containing a log book only so a writing implement is required to sign log. The container will hold Geocoins and small Travel Bugs Please replace cache carefully as this is a high muggle area.
To get to the cache site is easy enough but will involve braving the heights of a 130 year old bridge and walking across it.
We have replaced this cache a number of times now and in order for it to be available for the next cacher, can we please ask that the cache is replaced with the appropriate camouflage back in place.
Please be aware of muggles at the cache site and use your discretion when searching and signing.
