Capel St Mary, known locally simply as "Capel" is approximately 6 miles South-West of Ipswich in the county of Suffolk. It's also around 2 miles from the area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of Dedham Vale
The village's name probably comes from the Latin "capele" which means "chapel". A 13th Century document was the first to mention the village using it's current name.
