Geocache Description:

The Leicestershire Scout Council was formed on 29th March 1910 at a meeting held in the Town Hall in Leicester attended by the then Major General Baden Powell.

After many years of renting rooms in various buildings, in 1933 Leicestershire Scout Council purchased 132 Regent Road in Leicester for £1540.14s.6d. This was their HQ for over 60 years. In 1996, this building was sold and in June 1999, the President of Scouting UK, the Duke of Kent, officially opened the current HQ in Blaby, which was a former sports complex. In July 2013, this HQ was relocated to the north of the county, but the cache will remain in place.

Scouting offers opportunities for young people and adult leaders to participate and enjoy in a wide range of activities based around the core philosophy of developing the spiritual, mental and physical well being of young people and promoting responsible citizenship as members of local, national and international communities.

The cache is along a footpath. Parking is available on the road, but please be careful as it can be very busy. When placed, the cache contained a log book and a couple of small swaps. Please ensure it is well hidden.
