Fairly easy short hike, parking close by, dog friendly.
Call it what you will, this will always be "ESTRELLA MOUNTAIN RANCH" to me. It was called that when we moved here and you can't just change it because a marketing executive said so. In 2005 Newland Communities decided to change the name to just "Estrella" and divide it into separate areas called "Mountain Ranch" and "Monticeto". The placement of this cache is overlooking an active adult community called "Canta Mia". Just in case, someone gets caught up in the confusion of all the names, it's still all part of Estrella Mountain Ranch.
Nice short hike up a foothill fairly close to the road. Lots of loose rock, and the typical desert dangers. Wear the proper footwear, watch out for insects and wildlife, and most of all tread lightly. A trail north of the cache originating at the parking area will get you 1/2 way. Beyond that there is no real trail. The granite in the area is fragile and crumbles under foot. Please don't overturn all the rocks in the area during your search. Leave only what fits in the cache container.
The cache is a 1 quart round plastic container covered in duct tape for camo. This is our first cache, the original contents are a few Pirates of the Carribean action figures and other similar childrens toys. Easy parking on Estrella Parkway at N33 17.963, W112 25.689 on NB side in front of barricade.
Once into the GZ, the cache should be fairly easy to spot, only read the hint if your having trouble.
